Owl Lovin’

February 3, 2012

This morning I finished Emmagail’s sweater, my second sweater project. WOW, I loved this pattern, it was a quick and easy knit for me too. I’m definitely making more soon! I made size 3 in the pattern, but tweaked the length of the arms and body of the sweater for Emmagail. I have to block it still but I’m already thrilled with how it turned out!

Weekend Knitting..

January 30, 2012

Well, we now have two sick kids..Emmagail is dealing mostly with Asthma issues now and Ella is hopefully almost through the virus that started it all. SO, I haven’t accomplished as much knitting as I would have liked to this past week..but this weekend I finished up a cowl for Emmagail and made a hat for my cousin..

Jumper for a Birthday Girl…

January 27, 2012

I have had a sick daughter this entire week..something viral we think that turned into an asthma flare..we are hoping she makes bigger improvement by tomorrow. Needless to say, I haven’t gotten as much done as I would have liked or had planned to get done this week. I did finish a little jumper for my cousin’s daughter’s birthday though..

Pattern is modified from the Owl Jumper I made a while back, Yarn is Berroco Vintage and size 8 needles.

I realized that I didn’t post a picture of the bag my friend Ginny made me drawn up…so here ya go..

On another note, I’m always looking for affordable ways to keep my knitting notions and supplies organized..I found this little pencil holder at  our local Dollar General store for a little over $1 and it is perfect for my double pointed needles and I can throw it in my knitting bags and they aren’t scattered or lost throughout my bigger notions bag.

Knitting Catch Up..

January 18, 2012

This past week I’ve been working on some more time consuming projects but managed to finish these mittens for Emmagail just as we started to see real winter temps.

I have this sweater started for Emmagail, it’s the Owlet pattern by Kate Davies

I’m also working on a lap blanket for myself, it won’t be throw size but will be something I can use to keep me warm while I knit..

I’m working on this new blanket I plan to use for newborn pictures in February…

Close’s two strands of Yarn Art’s Balloon and one strand of Vanna’s Choice in White..
